• Registration for The IIA's conference and any other events are not confirmed or reserved until full payment is received. It is highly recommended that payment is provided at the time of registration to guarantee a seat at the conference or event. All invoice payments are due thirty (30) days from the invoice date. No invoices will be issued within thirty (30) days prior to a conference or event. Payment by credit card or wire transfer is required within thirty (30) days prior to a conference or event.
• The date payment determines registration rate is received by The IIA. Please plan accordingly, as a wire transfer or mailed check may take ten (10) or more business days to reach The IIA. Should we receive payment after a registration rate deadline, your account will be adjusted to reflect the current due amount. Entrance to the conference and all related events is contingent upon full payment.

Group Registration  

If you hold a group membership with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), please ensure you register on our administrative portal at adminportal.theiia.org. If you are interested in obtaining a group membership, you can express your interest by completing the form here.

When you attend this conference, you are eligible to earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits, depending on the number of sessions you attend. The IIA’s educational programs are acceptable for fulfilling CPE requirements, which ensure that internal auditors comply with the specific standards on education in The IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

Attendance for in-person attendees can be tracked by scanner devices or codes scannable by personal mobile devices while participating in a session meeting room. Those participating virtually in a hybrid conference may be required to respond to polls, alertness check or other log tracking activity to indicate active participation online during a session.

For virtual conference participants, attendance will be tracked via log in and out times as well as response to alertness checks. Attendees must maintain at least 50 minutes of live viewing for each session and respond to 70% of alertness checks.

The IIA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.NASBARegistry.org. Your CPE certificate will be emailed to you two to four weeks post-conference to the email address used to register for the conference.

Within 60 days of the completion of an IIA Conference, you will receive an e-mail communication to the address provided during registration. This email will include direct access to the CPE certificate.

IIA Code of Conduct for Activities

Overview

The Institute of Internal Auditors is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. The IIA’s policy is to provide an environment that is free from sexual and other types of discriminatory harassment. We do not tolerate harassment in any form.

This Code of Conduct (Code) applies to all individuals at an activity or related social event. Anybody violating this Code may be sanctioned or expelled from the activity at the discretion of The IIA. This Code does not replace The IIA’s Code of Ethics, which applies to every member.

Any group of people working together must abide by certain rules of conduct based on honesty, good taste, fair play, and safety. This is essential if everyone is to work together efficiently. The following are examples of some, but not necessarily all, types of misconduct.

• Harassing, discriminating, or retaliating against anyone including:
  • Verbal comments
  • Sexual images in public spaces
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other activities
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention
• Acts of dishonesty
• Engaging in any act of violence or damaging IIA property or the property of others
• Possession of weapons of any kind while participating in IIA activities
• Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

Prohibition of Sexual Harassment

The IIA prohibits sexual advances or requests for sexual favors or other physical or verbal conduct of a sexual nature, when (1) submission to such conduct is made as an implicit condition of contractual engagement; (2) it is used as a basis for decisions affecting the individual who submits or rejects to such conduct; (3) such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s performance; or (4) such conduct creates an intimidating, hostile, humiliating, or offensive work environment.

Although it is not possible to list all of the circumstances that would constitute sexual harassment, the following are some examples: (1) unwelcome sexual advances, whether or not they involve physical touching; (2) requests for sexual favors in exchange for actual or promised contracts, gifts or other benefits; (3) use of sexual epithets, jokes, written or oral references to sexual conduct, gossip regarding one’s sex life; (4) sexually oriented comments on an individual’s body or comments about an individual’s sexual activity, deficiencies, or prowess; (5) displaying sexually suggestive objects, pictures, cartoons; (6) unwelcome leering, whistling, deliberate brushing against the body in a suggestive manner, sexual gestures, suggestive or insulting comments; (7) inquiries into one’s sexual experiences; or (8) discussion of one’s sexual activities.

Prohibition of Other Types of Discriminatory Harassment

It is against IIA policy to engage in verbal or physical conduct that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual because of his or her race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, socioeconomic status, or other protected categories (or that of the individual’s relatives, friends or associates) that: (1) has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile, humiliating, or offensive environment; (2) has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s performance; or (3) otherwise adversely affects an individual’s opportunities for conducting business with The IIA.

The following conduct may constitute discriminatory harassment: (1) epithets, slurs, negative stereotyping, jokes, or threatening, intimidating, or hostile acts that relate to race, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability; and (2) written or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility toward an individual or group because of race, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability and that is circulated anywhere during an IIA activity whether on location or electronically, including but not limited to social media sites. Other conduct may constitute discriminatory harassment if it falls within the definition of discriminatory harassment set forth above.

Reporting of Harassment

If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible!
Individuals who observe, learn of, or are subjected to harassment should report the incident immediately. You can make a report either personally or anonymously. We will fully investigate all reports and take whatever action is necessary to prevent a recurrence.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. The IIA retains the right to take any action to keep any event a welcoming environment for all. This includes warning the offender, expulsion from the activity with no refund, or expulsion from future activities.

This Code applies to all activities and related social events.

Continental breakfast is provided each morning prior to the scheduled start time. There will be morning and afternoon refreshment breaks for full-day sessions, and lunch will be provided for full-day sessions or where expressly indicated.​

At times it might be necessary to cancel or reschedule a conference after receipt of a confirmation letter. The IIA will provide advance notice of any changes and in doing so will not be responsible for penalties related to the canceling or rescheduling of airfares, lodging, etc.​

Cancellations must be made in writing before the event's start date. There is no cancellation fee for cancellations received 30 days before the event start date. A nonrefundable service charge of US $295 will be charged for cancellations within 30 days before the event's start date. No refunds will be given for cancellations 2 weeks prior to the event's start date. All requests for refunds will be processed within 30 days following the program. Exception: We do allow you to transfer from in-person to virtual or vice versa until the start date of the event with no cancellation fee. To request this process, please complete the Transfer Request Form.

Yes. When you exit a course, your location is bookmarked. When you re-launch the course, a pop-up box will ask if you would like to resume where you left off. In order to return to your location, you must select Yes. This does not include exams.
Please note: Clearing your browser history prior to returning to the course may remove your bookmark.

**For online recordings viewed post-event, no CPE will be awarded.

Cancellations must be made in writing before the event's start date. The IIA's cancellation policy for Online and In-Person courses is as follows:

• No cancellation fee for cancellations received more than four weeks out from the start of the event.
• A non-refundable service charge* will apply for cancellations received from four to two weeks out from the start of the event. This fee will be waived if another training program is purchased at the time of cancellation.
• No refunds will be given for cancellations received two weeks or less from the event's start.

**All requests for refunds will be processed within 10 business days following the program. Fees, courses, and program content are subject to change without notice.

*Service charges for cancellations are as follows:

• 3 CPE course: $100
• 4 CPE course: $125
• 6 CPE course: $175
• 8 CPE course: $250
• 12 CPE course: $350
• 16 CPE and above course: $495

NOTE ON TRANSFERS:

Live Stream is a virtual training option that utilizes advanced video conferencing technology specifically designed for the learning environment to allow remote participants to take part in classroom training just as though they were physically present. The result is a hybrid learning environment where remote participants experience the same collaboration, instructor interaction, and learning benefits as if they were physically in the classroom.

​Interaction is just as easy for virtual participants as for participants inside the classroom. Virtual participants are displayed on two large screens at the back of the classroom. When virtual participants speak, they will occupy the entirety of those screens. Virtual participants essentially are the “back row” of the classroom. The remote learners also have the same degree of accessibility to the classroom and instructors. They can see the instructor’s presentation and the white board from their computer screens. If they need assistance, they can raise their hands, ask the instructor questions, or even share their screens with the instructor.

​Live Stream emphasizes two-way interaction, incorporating both remote and on-site participants in equal measure. Live Stream delivers the full class experience, not just the instructor’s presentation.

There is a small plug-in for internet browsers required to run virtual training that is compatible with most PCs and Macs. It is very easy to install and works with the most up-to-date systems and browsers.

Remote participants need a computer with a reliable Internet connection as well as a microphone and webcam to allow for effective two-way communication between the instructor and class participants.

Technical support is provided for virtual training participants and instructors. While the platform has proven very stable, we will be on hand to assist should any issues arise. Remote participants can receive real-time support for their technical issues.

​Approximately two weeks before the scheduled training, you will receive instructions for accessing the Live Stream virtual training. We strongly encourage you to review and follow the information and test your connection before the first day of class.

To be eligible for NABSA CPE, you must attend at least 50 minutes of the live event and respond to 75% of the alertness checks. CPE will not be awarded for on-demand viewing. If you do not meet the minimum time required and/or respond to the alertness checks, you will not be eligible to receive a CPE certificate.

If you experience technical difficulties due to personal bandwidth, Wi-Fi restrictions, or other reasons that impact your time in attendance and/or response to alertness checks, you will not be eligible to receive NASBA CPE credit. It is the registrant's responsibility to ensure they meet the minimum technical requirements to interact with the platform. If you experience difficulties, you should immediately use the chat to inform IIA moderators who can provide on the spot technical assistance.
