Certification Registry
As a certified internal auditor, prove your credibility.
Make your IIA designation easily verifiable.
The IIA Certification Registry is a benefit available to all IIA certification holders. It allows certification holders to provide evidence of their active IIA designations with employers and recruiters.
All IIA active certification holders who choose to voluntarily opt-in will be included in the registry.
To opt-in take the following steps:
- Log in to Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS) account.
- Select “HOME” tab
- Click on "Update My Profile"
- On the left, you will see "Public Registry" click on it and proceed to opt-in.
The IIA's Global Internal Audit Standards and The IIA's Professional Certifications Board require CPE of all internal auditors. All IIA certification holders are required to report CPE annually for their certifications to remain in good standing.
Individuals who do not meet the annual CPE requirement will not be included in The IIA Certification Registry nor can they claim the certification status.
Inclusion in the registry is voluntary and individuals can opt-in at the following points of time:
- Log in to Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS) account.
- Select “HOME” tab
- Click on "Update My Profile"
- On the left, you will see "Public Registry" click on it and proceed to opt-in.
- Opting into or out of the registry is also confirmed upon completion of a certification program and when certification holders report CPE
What information is included in The IIA Certification Registry?
- Certification holder’s first and last name
- Certificate ID
- Certification status
- Country of residence
No personal contact information, such as email, physical address, or phone number, will be included in the registry. Inclusion in the registry is voluntary.
If you have an active certification and choose not to be listed in the The IIA Certification Registry, your information will not be included.

A certification registry is an up-to-date registry of individuals who have earned a certification and maintain it via continuing professional education.
A certification registry makes it easy for potential employers and others to verify an individual’s certification.

Currently, you can either opt-in to participate when reporting annual CPE or you can log into your CCMS account.

Individuals must have a Certified (active) status to be included in the certification registry.

Certified individuals can log in to their CCMS profile to determine their current certification status. Learn more about different certification statuses.

Candidates who are in an “inactive” status will not be included on the certification registry.
To restore "active" status, designation holders must complete the steps for their current certification status. Upon successful completion, active members are listed in the registry.

No, only candidates who have achieved the Certified (active) status will be included in the certification registry.

No. The only information available on the certification registry is the certification holder’s name, certificate ID, certification status, and country of residence.
