LAKE MARY, Fla. (October 31, 2022) — The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) – the internal audit profession's leader in standards, certification, education, research, and technical guidance worldwide – today announced the creation of its first U.S. political action committee (PAC).
IIA PAC – an affiliated separate entity of The IIA, will be bipartisan and focus on supporting federal elected officials and candidates for office in the United States who advocate on behalf of the internal auditing profession.
As part of The IIA’s focus on enhancing its global advocacy program, IIA PAC is the latest step towards advancing good public policy in several key areas, including:
- Corporate governance
- Data privacy/security
- Cybersecurity
- Climate disclosures/ESG
- Combatting fraud, corruption, and retaliation
The IIA’s global public policy advocacy team focuses on engaging government officials, public policymakers, standards setters, and other stakeholders to protect and advance laws, regulations, and other public policies that are in the best interests of the public, the internal audit profession, The IIA, its affiliates, and its 218,000+ members.
