Our mission is to offer opportunities for internal audit professionals and students to network, share learning experiences, and earn CPEs by attending low cost, local training events in the Brazos Valley. We hope to serve members at both large and small organizations, and to promote professional development as a benefit for all in the Brazos Valley.
Chapter History:
Before the creation of the Brazos Valley chapter, local IIA members traveled one to two hours or more to attend IIA events in the Houston, Austin, or Dallas area. In August 2011, interested IIA members in College Station, TX, with the support of the Houston Chapter, contacted the South Region District Representative and IIA headquarters to begin the process of forming a new chapter.
The IIA Houston Chapter scheduled and hosted an interest meeting on Thursday, April 12, 2012. At this interest meeting, the organizing committee gained enough support to begin establishing an IIA chapter for the Bryan/College Station area, including creation of the necessary interest letter and a fifteen signature resolution. The IIA Chapter in the Bryan/College Station/Huntsville area, named the Brazos Valley Chapter, was approved for formation on April 23, 2012.
