About The IIA
Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) is an internal professional association with global headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's gloval voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Generally, members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.

Scholarship Overview
Through the generous support of our chapter, the Heartland-Iowa Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors Annual Scholarship has established a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to those interested in pursuing educational opportunities in the field of information systems/technology (IS/IT), computer sciences, finance, accounting, risk management, or related studies (i.e., hereafter, the “Scholarship”). Individuals interested in applying for the Scholarship must complete the application and related information requirements as noted below. Scholarship Award
The Heartland-Iowa Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors is allocating $2,000 for the scholarship academic year Scholarship fund. Two (2) $1,000 awards will be available for undergraduates and postgraduates. These individual scholarship awards will be made payable in the name of the recipient. Scholarship award requirements:
- All candidates must be pursuing either an associates, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in related fields above.
- All awards can be used for part-time and full-time programs.
- The Scholarship award is applicable for one school year term only; however, recipients may re-apply in subsequent years.
- Students must be enrolled for the scholarship academic year, focusing on information systems (IS), IT/Computer sciences, accounting, finance, risk management or related studies.
- Students must be enrolled with an accredited university or community college in the Eastern Iowa or Western Illinois regions.
- Minimum 3.25 (out of 4.0) Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).
- Completion of the scholarship application form, including supporting information.
- Scholarship awards will be granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin. International students are welcome to apply.

- Recipient is invited and encouraged to attend, during the award period: 2 chapter events (free of charge) / 1 virtual IIA Heartland-Chapter board meeting to receive the reward.
Scholarship Procedures and Selection Criteria
In the attachments you will find information on how to apply for the annual Heartland-Iowa Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors Annual Scholarship. The scholarship application form and supporting documentation must be submitted electronically to the IIA Heartland-Iowa Chapter Scholarship Committee to The IIA Heartland-Iowa no later than 11:59 pm US Central on December 13, 2024.
