Welcome to the IIA Tri-State Chapter
The Tri-State (Evansville) Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Inc. was founded in 2001 by 16 auditors. In 10 years, the chapter grew to nearly 100 members from 30 local companies encompassing a broad spectrum of professions in internal auditing, accounting, compliance, education, governance, IT audit, internal control, risk management, and security.
In 2011, Tri-State Chapter was presented with the "Most Inspiring Chapter" award for their commitment to educating children by teaching financial literacy at local elementary schools in conjunction with Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana. The Tri-State Chapter was labeled a "Chapter of Excellence" for 2011, 2012, and 2013 by the Holmes Corporation and the Global Institute of Internal Auditors for educating members on the CIA Learning System. The Institute of Internal Auditors has recognized Tri-State Chapter as "Gold" status in multiple years, in which, metrics are used to measure the Chapter's support of members, advocacy to the profession, and operations.
Tri-State Chapter is committed to offering professional development through monthly meetings and seminars. The Chapter offers Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits to attendees of instructional events. We are determined to continue to provide CPE at the lowest rate possible.
Chapter Objectives
To promote internal auditing as a profession and to provide local professional development opportunities. To provide for the professional development and progress of its membership, while maintaining financial viability. To provide an association whereby internal auditors and other professionals with an interest in internal auditing may share ideas, best practices, and efficiencies. To provide a news source for our membership by maintaining a website. To encourage our membership to become active in committees and volunteer opportunities as they present themselves to the Chapter. To continue to grow our membership within the area and extend into other outlying areas in order to tap into membership opportunities that may exist.

Dear Tri-State Chapter Members and Guests,
Welcome to the Tri-State Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors! I am on my second year as the chapter’s president and it has been an honor to serve as such. We have some new volunteers to the Chapter this year which is incredibly exciting – check out the bios of your chapter leaders! Together, we will try to get the chapter back on track after such an unusual, challenging couple of years – for not just our chapter, or the IIA as a whole, but for the entire world.
We are working on some CPE opportunities for the chapter year to ensure your membership provides value. We are also updating our newsletter to have an all new look – be on the lookout for that! If there are any ideas you have that could add value to the entire membership, please reach out to one of the Chapter Officers – we would love to hear from you and explore any new ideas!
We are also working with the Nashville Chapter this year and hope to expand some training opportunities with that partnership. We would like to send our appreciation for all that have and continue to keep this chapter going – from the founders who launched this chapter, to our current board of governors, officers, volunteers, and of course to our members for your continued participation.
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc., you can reach out to any officer or to our chapter’s email address:
Thank you,
Jennifer Cecil, Tri-State Chapter
President
