Welcome to the IIA Central Illinois Chapter
The Central Illinois Chapter of the IIA (CIC IIA) was founded in 1960. It serves internal auditors that work in and around three major metropolitan areas in Central Illinois: Peoria, Bloomington/Normal, and Decatur. In recognition for our work, we have received the IIA's highest level of recognition, Platinum Chapter.
We provide many different programs for our members. The following summarizes some of our major activities:
Continuing Professional Education:
The CIC IIA sponsors monthly 4 hour CPE programs. Additionally, we host multiple 8-hour long seminars each March that provide in depth coverage of topics applicable to internal auditing. The Events Schedule will provide additional information about these programs.Academic Relations:
The CIC IIA has an active academic relations program that interacts with the nine local colleges and universities in our area. Some of our activities include on-campus presentations on internal auditing and a student manuscript contest. Additionally, we support the Internal Audit Education Partnership program at Bradley University.Networking and Leadership Opportunities:
A dedicated group of volunteers runs our chapter. We provide many opportunities to serve on local committees and executive board positions. Through these positions, one can meet internal auditing professionals at other organizations as well as continue to develop leadership and management skills.Supporting IIA Programs:
Several members of the CIC IIA serve on district, national, and international committees. Additionally, our chapter has made annual contributions to the IIA Research Foundation and the Internal Auditing Academic Advancement Fund. -
Building Awareness Champions
We are pleased to be a 2023 Building Awareness Champion!
During Internal Audit Awareness Month in May, we shared our passion for internal auditing, promoting the profession through a variety of events and campaigns designed to inform and engage, raise awareness, and help stakeholders understand the value of internal audit in their organizations.
