The new Global Internal Audit Standards were released on January 9, 2024 and will become effective January 9, 2025. New resources are continually being made available by the IIA to help internal auditors prepare to implement them. View resources.
The Winnipeg Chapter offered multiple sessions this fall on implementing the new standards. Stay tuned for information on more planned sessions in the new year!
The annual IIA-ISACA Holiday Mix and Mingle will be held December 2, 2024 at the RBC Convention Centre.
Members are invited to drop by anytime between 11:30am and 1:30pm. This is a casual networking event where attendees can enjoy some great bites and celebrate the season. You may also come away with a draw prize!

Welcome members & future members!
I am honoured to be serving as your president for the 2024/25 Chapter year and am looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.
Our Education team has worked hard to plan delivery of learning events both in-person and virtually throughout the year. The team is launching a NEW full-day event this fall, Emerging Trends in Internal Audit! The fall calendar will also include webinars on implementation of the new IIA Standards. We will be collaborating with other IIA Chapters and other professional organizations in Manitoba to maximize and elevate the learning opportunities available to our membership.
We are also planning some great networking opportunities – our annual joint event with ISACA in December and a more casual outing in the Spring.
Our advocacy team is working to promote our profession by connecting with post-secondary institutions and government officials across Manitoba.
I am incredibly grateful for our amazing team of board volunteers. We continue to work to develop new ways to serve our members and to build the internal audit profession by promoting learning and competency.
Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, suggestions, or concerns.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Locken
