It is through the contributions of members like yourself that the IIA is able to maintain its leadership in advancing the profession of internal auditing' stated Charles T Wright, Chairman of the Board Nominee, in his letter of invitation to Rajeswar.
The IIA's strategic plan includes raising the profile of and demand for internal audit and ensuring the profession is recognized as an indispensable resource by key stakeholders. One of the principal tools in accomplishing this goal is advocacy.
The three principle advocacy messages are (1) Internal audit makes organizations stronger (2) IIA Standards provide the foundation for high-quality audits that help ensure complete, accurate, and reliable information is reported to the Board (3) Certified Internal Auditors demonstrate proficiency to deliver high-quality audits.
The IIA's advocacy efforts Influence standard-setting bodies, oversight entities, regulators, and other stakeholders to endorse or adopt the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards), ensure that internal auditing is at the governance table, and is acknowledged as a cornerstone of effective governance.
